Take it to Heart Easel Card

I made this Scalloped Heart Easel card for my February (I think) Big Shot Class:

It features a few products from the Occasions Mini (available until April 30th) and the Paisley Petals designer paper which is on the Retiring List (available while supplies last). The secret to this card is not cutting all the way through the 'hinge' (folded edge) of the card base with the heart framelit. Then the base again (about halfway) and cut a full scalloped heart to glue below the score line. A brad (or button or punched piece on dimensionals) will hold the card open.

Stamps: Take it to Heart (Occasions Mini), Loving Thoughts (Occasions Mini)
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Peach Parfait, Chocolate Chip
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Other: Blender Pen, Paper Snips, Heart Framelits, Vintage Brads, Paisley Petals DSP (Retiring).

Half-Cut Z-Fold Apothecary Art

We made this card in my Stepped Up Card Classes this weekend.

The Label Framelits from the Occasions Mini Catalogue make it easy to line up with the score lines and only cut half the label for this Z-fold card. Apothecary Art works perfectly with the Framelits as well and I used some Twitterpated papers from the Occasions Mini as well. I'm showing off the retiring In Colours (Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz & Concord Crush) this month, and this card features two: Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride. Be sure to get them before they are gone forever!

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts
Inks: Basic Grey, Pear Pizzazz
Card stock: Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Other: Twitterpated DSP, Twitterpated Button, Pear Pizzazz Stitched Poly Ribbon, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Labels Framelits

Saying Goodbye... Pocket Silhouettes

Click HERE to download a pdf file of stamps that will be gone after May 31st.
or
Visit my online store (Click HERE for the Retiring Products section)

The Retiring Stamps list has been posted today... these stamps will be available until May 31st, and then gone forever, so be sure to get anything you want that is on this list by then. The bad news: I am losing over half of my stamp sets. The good news: They will all be available for free during my BOGO event in June! More good news: I am so looking forward to seeing the fresh new sets in the new catalogue.

I'll be featuring some of these retiring stamps in May, but I had to add a card using Pocket Silhouettes today. This was one of the first sets I purchased after I became a demonstrator, and I still love it. I really think it is quite versatile and is a good starter stamp set for people new to card-making. This card is one from a past Simple Cards Class, and I love the colour combination.

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes, Bring on the Cake
Inks: Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Baja Breeze
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze
Other: Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon

April Scrapbook Class - Easter Eggs (feat. Summer Smooches)

This is the one page layout in my Scrapbook Class this weekend:

It features the Summer Smooches line of products (papers, stamps and seam binding) and Framelits/Edgelits. My favourite part of this layout is the tag--I cut the top of it with the Label Framelit, and I love the shape! I'll be using this idea on a card in the near future.

Stamps: Distressed Dots (background), Bright Blossoms
Inks: Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade
Big Shot: Label Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelit, Natural Serif Sizzlit, Timeless Type Sizzlit
Other: Summer Smooches DSP, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding

Flower Garden Embossed Strips

This is one of the cards we're making in my Simple Cards Class this weekend (still time to register)...

I saw a card created by Linda Cullen on Pinterest (she also CASE'd it from a card on Pinterest) and had to create my own version... I might try it again with thinner strips of card stock. Just glue your card stock strips onto the card base, then run it through the Big Shot in the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Folder. Easy, peasy! I wanted to feature the departing 2011/12 In Colours (get them while you can... they will be gone May 31st--or sooner if supplies are depleted). I really like the way the smallest Label Framelit frames the XL Oval punch with the sentiment. I sueded the flower (Boho Blossoms Punch) by crumpling it up, then peeling apart the cardstock to make two flowers. The In Colour Glimmer Brad adds the perfect amount of sparkle.

Stamps: Bring on the Cake
Inks: Concord Crush
Card stock: Naturals white, Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride
Other: In Colour Glimmer Brad, Flower Garden TIF, XL Oval punch, Labels Framelit, Boho Blossom punch

March Shoebox Swap - Part 2

I'm back with the last of our swap cards from last month (our theme was Spring):

Joan couldn't make it to the swap, but sent the supplies for this bookmark with her daughter so we could make it. I really like the layered flower and the way the stamps look stamped on the textured card stock.

Sherri's card showcases the Lace Border punch in a fun new way, creating this border. You start with a square (I think 4 3/4") and punch each side in the middle, leaving the corners un-punched. The square in the middle is created by the punch as well... it's the piece left over!

Nancy's card features the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set... I love this shadow box card and think it shows off these cute little guys perfectly! I added the Baker's Twine for the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for another fabulous swap everyone!!! If you would like to swap with us this month, our theme is Mothers and Fathers, and our swap is on Monday, April 30th @ 7:00pm. The fee is $5.00 which I use to buy prizes for the evening! Everyone is welcome... for more info, you can check out my event calendar or e-mail me.

Gold Stars, Ink. March Shoebox Swap cards

As promised, I'm here to share some of the cards from my team swap last week. Our theme was Spring, and I shared my card in my last post. We bring the pre-cut supplies to our stamp night, and pass around the boxes to make one of each person's card. I ask everyone to try to keep the cards simple so each one takes 10-15 minutes to stamp and assemble.

This card was designed by my daughter Morgan. She knew exactly what she wanted, and even though I tried to persuade her to do things differently, the card ended up exactly how she wanted it. With some careful brayer work (on the Manhattan Floral Textured Impressions Folder) by me ahead of time, this card was very quick to stamp and assemble.

Susan did a lot of the punching ahead of time, so we just had to sponge and assemble our tulips (made from the bird wing of the 2 Step Bird punch), layer the pieces, do some spritzing and put the pieces together. She ran a piece of vellum through the Big Shot in the Snow Burst TIF to add texture to the vase (Tab Punch). The Adorning Accents Edgelits and texture folder add the perfect touch to this one.

I thought Ila's Easter card was super cute and creative... She pre-punched the eggs and ran them through inked Textured Impressions folders. We stamped the grass (Inspired by Nature) and cut it by hand, then tucked the eggs and bunny ears into it.

I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of our swap cards...

Summer Smooches!

Stampin' Up! is giving us a sneak peek at some new products that will be in the new 2012/13 catalogue in June... and two that won't be in the catalogue, but co-ordinate with the other products. Click the image to view it larger, or check out the Summer Smooches section in my store:

You can buy any of these products during April, and then they will be gone until June when the new catalogue comes out. The stencil and the fabric brads are only available during April, so be sure to grab them while you can! I will be showcasing some of these products in my classes and Private Classes this month, so keep an eye out for more projects here on my blog. Today I have a card I shared last week at my Shoebox Swap. I used the Summer Smooches papers, the Bright Blossoms stamp set and the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding. I'll be sharing more of the swap cards over the next couple days... our theme last month was Spring.

Stamps: Bright Blossoms
Inks (Markers): Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade
Card stock: Naturals White
