February Technique Class - Rock 'n Roll

For the Rock 'n Roll portion of my February Technique class, you can choose to make the butterfly card (left) or the animal card (right)... all the bits are the same, you'll just choose the stamp set you'd like to use. I saw a card made by Maile Belles in the most recent Stamp It! magazine and fell in love with the design, so I used it for these cards. I am really drawn to the simple design and the small detail of the rounded corners.

Supplies: Stamps (Fox & Friends, A little Birthday Cheer, Great Friend); Inks (Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Bermuda Bay, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo); Cardstock (Naturals White, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Kraft); Corner Rounder

February Technique Class - Thumping & Rock 'n Roll

This is one of the cards we're making at this month's Technique Class. It showcases Thumping and the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set (Stampin' Up! is donating $2.00 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set sold by February 28th). I love the colours in the Cottage Wall designer papers, and I used three patterns from that pack for this card too. If you'd like to make this card (and one other that I'll post tomorrow) and you're in the London area, it's a $5.00 class (or free with a $25.00 purchase). Please e-mail me for more details...

Class times: Friday Feb 19th @ 7:00pm; Sunday Feb 21st @ 1:00pm & 7:00pm

Sketch #81!

I have a card sketch for you this week:

and I thought I should ink up another set from the Occasions Mini that I thought was cute, but I didn't need... until I saw all the cute things everyone else was doing with it (and how versatile it could be)... Fox & Friends. I'm working on my cards for this weekend's Technique Class (we're doing Rock 'n Roll and Thumping), so I Rock 'n Rolled each of the animals. Here's my card:

Stamps: Fox & Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Dusty Durango
Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Whisper White, Kraft
Other: The Write Stuff Specialty paper (loving this lately), Pinking Hearts Border punch, Circle Designer Brads, Stamp-a-ma-Jig.

If you create something based on this sketch, I'd love to see it... link me up in the comments!

Fancy Folds - Free-Standing Pop-Up

The third card in my Fancy Folds class from last weekend. This card folds flat and fits in a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" envelope. The base slides up over the tag.

I'm thinking of offering this as a Class-to-Go (everything cut and scored for you, but you do the stamping and assembling with your own stamps and inks). You'd receive pieces (cardstock and embellishments) and assembly instructions for five different Fancy Folds cards (this one, a Double Flap card, an Easel card, an Accordian card and a Side Step card). The cost would be $15.00 plus shipping (I have to look into the cost still). You would also receive cutting and scoring instructions so you could replicate the cards on your own. If you would be interested in this, feel free to comment or send me an e-mail. I'm in the process of typing instructions now.

Supplies (all SU!): Stamps (Friends 24-7, Bella Toile, Vintage Labels); inks (Soft Suede, Certainly Celery, Rose Red); Cardstock (Soft Suede, Rose Red, Naturals Ivory, Certainly Celery); Punches (Tag Corner, Curly Label, 1" Circle punch); Soft Suede Polka Dot ribbon, Sticky Strip, Hi Embosslit

Framed Hearts

I did this challenge for a card sketch challenge on Stampin' Connect (a message board/gallery for demonstrators) last week. I used the I {heart} Hearts set to get the patterned hearts (I punched out smaller hearts with the Small Heart punch). I love the Vintage Labels stamps (free with a $65.00 purchase) to frame them. Then I used the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp inked with VersaMark and then Melon Mambo ink and sprinkled with Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss to make them shiny and sparkly (so nice IRL).

Supplies (all SU!): Stamps (Picture Perfect, Dot, Dot, Dot, Vintage Labels, I {heart} Hearts); Inks (VersaMark, Melon Mambo); Cardstock (Going Gray, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo); Black Stampin' Embossing powder, Iridescent Ice Embossing powder, Curly Label punch, Small Heart punch

Sketch #80

Another layout sketch this week... if you create something based on the sketch, I'd love to see it! Link me up in the comments. I'm thinking about looking into Mr. Linky, so if you'd like that better than the comments, please let me know (I don't want to add it and have it depressingly empty...).

Here's the sketch:

and my layout is square too! I'm starting a 8.5x8.5 album, so you might see more square layouts from me in the near future...

Supplies (all SU!): Stamps (Fifth Avenue Floral, Just Perfect Alphabet); Inks (Sahara Sand, Rose Red, VersaMark); Cardstock (Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise); Papers are from the Sweet Pea pack, journaling block from the Write Stuff pack, White Stampin' Emboss powder.

Stampin' Up! Border & Corner Punch how-to video

I absolutely love these new co-ordinating punches from Stampin' Up! and I'm so happy that Bonnie (one of the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator training team) has shown us how to use them together. They can be a little tricky to figure out, but they looks so good together with a little practice. On this card below--inspired by a card made by Wendy Weixler--I made the Rich Razzleberry frame by using the Scallop Trim Corner punch and Scallop Trim Border punch (free during Sale-a-Bration!!!)

So if you're interested in these punches and using them together, I highly recommend watching this video!

Supplies for my card (all SU!): Stamps (Fifth Avenue Floral); Cardstock (Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry); Ink (VersaMark); Punches (Scallop Trim Border, Scallop Border, Scallop Trim Corner); Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions folder; White Stampin' Emboss powder; White Taffeta ribbon

Fancy Folds Class - Double Flap card

This weekend is my Fancy Folds Class. We are making five different types of special cards that all fit in a standard envelope for $15.00. This is a Double Flap card. I saw the idea for this on Dawn's blog, and adapted it to work with the Love Bandit set. I didn't think I needed this set from the Occasions Mini until I saw all the cute cards people were making with it. Obviously, I caved and got it! Here is the card closed:

And here it is open:

I'll be posting more cards we're making in this class throughout the week... I have three time slots available if you'd like to come... Sunday, Feb 7 @ 1:00 or 7:00pm and Monday, Feb 8 @ 7:00pm. Please contact me for more info or to register.

Supplies (all SU!): Stamps (Teeny Tiny Wishes, Love Bandit); Inks (Soft Suede, Rose Red, Chocolate Chip); Cardstock (Rose Red, Soft Suede,  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White); Stampin' Write Markers (Green Galore, Garden Green, Basic Grey, Soft Suede, Rose Red); Thoroughly Modern DSP
