I {heart} Hearts for Haiti!

Stampin' Up! has announced that from now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set you buy will be donated American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need. You can buy the wood mount set (item #117010 - $35.95) or the clear mount set (118571 -$24.95 *Clear Block D recommended*).

In addition, I personally will donate $2.00 from every I {heart} Hearts stamp set I sell by February 28th to the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti.

This set isn't just for Valentine's Day... and two of the stamps co-ordinate perfectly with the Full Heart and Heart to Heart punches. If you'd like to buy this set and you're Canadian, you can contact me or buy it directly from my online store: http://www.lizgoldhawk.stampinup.net/

Here is one card I've made using this set. I'll be posting more throughout the next couple months to show how versatile it is.

supplies (all SU!): Stamps (I {Heart} Hearts, Well Scripted); Inks (Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo); Cardstock (Kraft, Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White); Punches (Scallop Trim Corner, Scallop Trim Border, Heart to Heart); Other (Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, Chocolate Satin Ribbon)

Sketch #78

I'm going to try Mondays for my sketch challenges... if I can get myself back into a routine, it should work! So I have a card sketch this week (for any of my Demo friends, it's also the sketch challenge for this week at the Stampin' Connections website--if you play along, make sure you add the tag: SCCSC1)

Create a card (or layout if you want) based on this sketch. I'd love to see your creation, so link me up in the comments!

Here is my card (the other card we did at my January Technique Class - Kissing):

Since Carrie asked what Kissing is in the comments for my last card, I thought I'd answer her question here... Kissing just means pressing two stamps together (usually a solid stamp and a patterned stamp). On this card, I show three different variations. The butterfly stamp was inked and then pressed onto a clean dotted stamp. This effect is very subtle (if you click on the card image you might be able to see it). The larger flower was inked with a lighter colour (Orchid Opulence) and the dotted stamp was inked with a darker colour (Rich Razzleberry) before I kissed them together. The medium flower was inked with Rich Razzleberry, stamped off and then kissed the dotted stamp that had been inked with Rich Razzleberry as well.

Supplies:

Stamps: For All You Do, Whimsical Words (Clear Mount - they made it so easy to stamp on the label!!!)
Inks: Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Old Olive
Other: Lots of Tags Big Shot die, Cottage Wall DSP, Scallop Trim Border Punch

January Technique - Kissing

Since my February Technique class isn't until after Valentine's Day, I figured I'd do Kissing this month! ;) I love how this simple technique made Upsy Daisy (an old favourite) look new again! Of course I had to show off some of my new favourites from the Occasions Mini too, so we used the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder and Well Scripted for the sentiment.

Supplies: Stamps (Upsy Daisy, Bella Toile, Well Scripted); Cardstock (Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink); Inks (Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry); Big Shot (Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Lots of Tags Sizzlets); Wide Oval punch

Sale-a-Bration!

Sale-a-Bration has officially begun, and the Occasions Mini is also available to order from, and there are tons of great new products that I love! Vintage Labels is a Sale-a-Bration set that you can get for free until March 31st and I love it--especially in the new Clear Mount system. It's so easy to line up the sentiment inside the label. I've added the links to the Sale-a-Bration and Occasions Mini catalogue in my sidebar. If you'd like to receive a copy in your mailbox and you don't have a demonstrator, shoot me an e-mail and I'll send them to you!

I copied this card idea from the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website (just switched up the papers and added the Woodgrain Background) and love the simple design... hope you like it too!

Vintage Medallion

This is the second card we're making at my Sneak Peek Open House today... I saw this online somewhere (of course I can't find it right now) and loved the way Medallion could layer with the Vintage Label (New from Sale-a-Bration). I thought Bermuda Bay and Chocolate Chip looked great together and love the way this card turned out!

supplies: Stamps (Medallion, Vintage Labels), Ink (Bermuda Bay), Cardstock (Chocolate Chip, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White), Scallop Circle Punch, Silver Mini Brad
